Treasurer

 

We are looking for a new Treasurer to join our Committee.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the work of BAS while becoming part of a friendly and welcoming team dedicated to supporting the aphasia community. As a Committee member, you'll also be able to attend the annual BAS Conference free of charge.

The Treasurer plays a key role in supporting the financial management of the Society. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and monitoring the BAS Metro Bank account.
  • Maintaining accurate records of income, expenditure, payments and receipts.
  • Working with the Society's accountant to prepare the annual accounts.
  • Liaising with the BAS Administrator regarding memberships, payments and refunds.
  • Advising the Committee on the Society's financial position and expenditure.
  • Managing financial account access and authorisations (including Stripe, GoCardless and Metro Bank).
  • Liaising with suppliers and conference organisers on financial matters.
  • Presenting the annual financial report at the BAS AGM during the annual conference.
 

If you have good organisational skills and would like to support the Society in this important role, we would love to hear from you. Training/a handover can be provided.

Newsletter Editor

 
We are seeking a new editor for our newsletter which is published 3-4 times a year.
 
Duties include:
 

  • Editing and designing the newsletter (currently using Canva).
  • Collating submissions for the next newsletter.
  • Monitoring the newsletter mailbox.
  • General committee duties; attending committee meetings, contributing to key decisions and supporting wider BAS activity.
