BAS Special Award 2020

A funding opportunity for aspiring clinical academics with an interest in jargon aphasia.

The BAS Special Award for Jargon Aphasia was a one-off special award due to a generous bequest made to the Society. The award is for £5000 awarded to a clinician (early-stage researcher) interested in research for the benefit of people with jargon aphasia and their families/carers

BAS is thrilled to have announced at our AGM that the winner of the Special Award is Susie Williams, with her project entitled "Exploring the support needs of carers of people with jargon aphasia". Susie will be supported by academic mentors, Dr Suzanne Beeke & Dr Anna Volkmer (UCL), Dr Sarah Northcott (City, University of London) and The ESNEFT research team.

BAS extends its huge thanks to the anonymous donor, to Fiona Menger (BAS Special Award and Seed Fund Coordinator) and our panel of reviewers for this award.
