Melanie has been representing Speakability (Action for Dysphasic Adults) and people with Aphasia on the BAS Committee since she became Chief Executive in 2008.
Speakability (Action for Dysphasic Adults) is a national charity founded 35 years ago by Diana Law who had Aphasia following a stroke. The charity offers information, support and hope to people with Aphasia, their families and carers. It helps people with Aphasia to develop their own Speakability Self-Help Groups. In April 2015, Speakability joined forces with the Stroke Association. Together they have ambitious plans to ensure more people living with Aphasia receive vital support.
