New Committee Members
During the AGM held at the last Therapy Symposium several new committee members were elected. These are Clare Telford,
Heather Waldon, Christos Salis and Fiona Stewart. We would like to welcome them to the committee and look forward to working with them.
Sadly we aslo saw some committee members leave as their terms came to an end. Lisa Perkins had been our Research in Progress Co-ordinator. Under her
guidance we had some very successful research days. Also Ruth Herbert stepped down as Chair of the committee. Ruth did a wonderful job as chair and
we wish both her and Lisa all the best.
Therapy Symposium 2008
The 2008 Therapy Symposium was held at the University of East Anglia on 8-9 September and was a great success. The symposium concentrated on what therapists
actually do in treatment. It was a unique opportunity to hear about
therapy approaches in detail and to take part in lively debate.
Research in Progress 2008

The Robin Tavistock Trust Award 2007
The Trustees of the Tavistock Trust for Aphasia are pleased to announce that Professor Jane Marshall is the 2nd recipient of The Robin Tavistock Award. This award, named after Robin Tavistock, the 14th Duke of Bedford who founded the TTA, is presented annually to a person, or group, who it is felt, has made a significant contribution in the field of aphasia. BAS 2007 Bi-annual conference a great success
The British Aphasiology Society Biennial International Conference was held on the 10-12th September 2007. The conference venue was Our Dynamic Earth and this set the stage for a truly international event with delegates from around the world. AGM was held 11th September 2007
The AGM was held on the 11th of September 2007, in Edinburgh, during the BAS Bi-annual Conference. The AGM detailed changes to the Committee that have taken place in the last year Chair's and Treasurer's Reports were also given.
